No, I'm afraid my mom isn't into the internet thing...she lets me do the web interfacing on our joint stock account. ;) We don't actually study specific Indians - we just enjoy the local artwork of our Pacific Northwest tribes. :)

nice work on smoothing out the grainy stock and anchoring the model with a believable shadow. I would have added more animals blended into the cloth like the eagle or just not used the eagle. Good luck and nice work! :D

Thanks so much! I know what you mean about more animals...I had a horse and a wolf I was going to add, but it just got too busy. And you're right; I should probably have removed the eagle too, but he ingratiated himself into the story in my mind and now I'm attached... ;)

haha. maybe if he was just warped a little to look like he's woven into the fabric, but maybe that's not how the story goes. great job on the smoke btw.

Hi!

This is really good! It flows well and the stock iamges are well-blended.

I do have a few suggestions though, if you'll have them:

-First, starting from the top, the dreamcatcher overall looks good, except that the white lines of the web look a little too bright and thus draw a little too much attentio away from the rest of the image. That, and I think the spider seems to stand out from the web a little too much. Try fading the edges to make them smoother and dulling the colour down a tiny bit so the vibrant colours of the spider don't contrast as much with the rest of the image.

-Second, you have done an excellent job removing her tattoos, to the point where you would honestly never know she ever had any. However, I believe her legs could use a few more shadows and a slightly oranger tinge, to match her arms and face (if this was intentional, ignore me ;))

This really is an excellent work, please don't be offended if my critique sounded harsh ^^;

Dan

Of course I'm not offended! :) I always appreciate a constructive critique. I've got to admit I get frustrated sometimes with the change in vibrancy and contrast on different computer screens...I created this on both an iMac and a PC monitor. On the iMac it probably looks more like you mentioned, and I agree with your observations, but on the other monitor, it was a lot darker and the spider was not contrasted that much. But regardless of the screen changes, I admit I'm probably a little too fond of vibrancy. ;)
