Taking a break from the ball, a lovely faerie waits for her eager beau to meet her on the balcony.
Tip for Creating a sunset sky: The beautiful background photo in this piece has a mid-day blue sky. I wanted a sunset sky to create the desired ambiance, so I needed to make some changes. I created a new layer right above the background, chose an apricot color, clicked on the gradient and made sure "reflected gradient" was chosen, then drew the gradient bar just above the hills. Then I changed the layer blending mode to "color" and dialed down the opacity until it felt right. I then repeated the same steps with gold and lavender on separate layers and played with the opacity, hue and saturation on each layer until I got the look I wanted.
Reminds me of an amazing song called "Before the Dawn" by Evanescence: "Meet me after dark again, and I will hold you. I am nothing more than to see you there. And maybe tonight, we'll fly so far away, we'll be lost before the dawn."
