Cottingley Fairy by Cynnalia Cottingley Fairy by Cynnalia
Created for the Cottingley Fairies contest at :iconmanip-contest:

The challenge was to create an old black and white picture inspired by the famous Cottengley Fairies photos from 1917. The story, and the photos taken by the two cousins, Elsie and Frances, can be seen here: [link]

This was an interesting challenge for me because usually I try to make photos look like paintings, but this had to keep its photographic qualities. Of course, I'm also not known for my monochromatic works, so dealing with black and white was a bit out of my comfort zone. ;) Still, this was very fun and I'm actually very pleased with how it turned out. :D

ETA 12/26: Thank you for everyone who voted for me! I won third place in the contest. :boogie:

how cute :)
i like the photo tinting and i love the texture of the photo.
unless this is your intention, the fairy is very big compared to the size of the model.

Thanks! :D I agree the fairy is a little big, but she has such a darling grin I couldn't bear to make it smaller! ;)
